Honeywell in France.

Juridically, all the French entities depend on Honeywell S.A., subsidiary company with 100% of Honeywell Int.

In 1950 (May), Honeywell France is founded in Paris, by Pat SULLIVAN. Then, the factory of Amiens opens in 1956.

In 1975, Honeywell France chooses the new city of Quentin Saint in Yvelines to establish his registered office. It was one of the first tertiary establishments in this new city, it was to accomodate thereafter many other companies of high technology.

In 1982, Honeywell repurchased company COMETA of Grenoble, specialist in photoelectric technology.

Honeywell-Cometa becomes the European center of competences for the systems of photoelectric detection in automatism. This factory became in 1988, the French leader of the immaterial barrier of safety. Approved by the national organizations of safety, these products were quickly established in the French and foreign markets, in particular that of automotive engineering.

Recognized by the French Institute of the Industrial Design which decreed the JANUS in 1990 to him, the center of Grenoble continues a strong growth in the field of the photoelectricity, the safety and the automatic ordering of lighting.

It is in 1987, that Honeywell France sees the expansion of the avionics activity with the aerospace one in Toulouse. Installed in the middle same of the principal pole of the European aircraft industry in Toulouse-Blagnac, Honeywell Aerospace had the role the first maintenance of the Sperry flights. Its responsibilities extended to the unit for the Marketing needs, produced supports and development for the French and European aeronautical programs.

In France, Honeywell is especially known for its association with Bull (HONEYWELL-BULL). The company broke this association in December 1990.

Currently, the registered office is located in Levallois-Perret (92) in Paris area. It gathers the whole of the commercial activities and administrative of the company in permanent relation with the centers of Marketing and production of the group, distributed in various countries.
Two sites of production are present in France: the factory of Meylan (Cometa) close to Grenoble manufactures safety fences and the factory of Amiens manufactures transmitters of temperature, recorders, regulators and programmers.

Approximately 3700 people work for Honeywell in France, and carry out a sales turnover of 887 million frank.

Twenty five other Honeywell sites are established in France in Allonnes, Annemasse, Blagnac, Breuil dryness, Cergy-Pontoise, Cop-on-Noireau, Cranves, Gennevilliers, Grenoble, Freynaye, Levallois-Perret, the Island-Saint-Denis, Lille, Longlaville, Monaco, Marcq in Baroeul, Roissy, Sophia-Antipolis, Strasbourg, the Thaon-the-Vosges, Toulouse, Vendôme, Vénissieux, Vitrolles, Witry-the-Rheims.
