Yesterday…

• 1956: On April 10, the first stone of the factory of Amiens is posed.

• 1965: Creation of the Engineering and design department and the Service Quality. The factory starts to produce its own products.

• 1970: Installation of the information processing system and the control of management.

• 1980: The factory becomes a center of excellence E.F.A.C. (European Factory Application Center). The center becomes responsible on a European or world scale for the evolution of one of technologies of the company.

• 1989: The department marketing, hitherto established in Saint-Aubin, settles in Amiens.

• 1992: The factory Honeywell Amiens obtains certification ISO 9001 and receives the 2nd Price Picardy Quality.

• 1993: By the introduction of industrial products of measurement, the name of the center of Amiens becomes M.C.P.C. (Measure & Control Product Center).

• 1994: The organization of the center is transformed according to horizontal processes' what allows a better orientation towards the customers and a responsibilisation of the employees.

• 1995: Honeywell Amiens obtains the 2nd Price Picardy Quality.

• 1996: Honeywell Amiens arrives 15th at the Price France Quality and receives the 2nd Price Picardy Quality. Regrouping of the 2 factories, located face to face, in same the buildings, a preoccupation with an improvement of the communication.

• 1997: The company obtains the 2nd Price France Quality and the 1st Picardy Price.

• 1999: - September: Fusion of HONEYWELL with ALLIED SIGNAL which becomes INTERNATIONAL HONEYWELL (120 000 people in the world).
- October: The center “Measures & Control” (M&C) of HONEYWELL Amiens becomes a center “Sensing & Control/Control Product” (S&C/CP).


Center “S&C/CP” of Honeywell Amiens employs 158 people and, is equipped with all the functions of an industrial company, except the sale which is managed by the 45 subsidiary companies distributed on all planet.
The center with the responsibility to serve our European markets of Measurement and Control and a responsibility for the development for the recording products for physical and transmitting data of temperature.
Honeywell is also a center of configuration of the products of the group manufactured in other countries (the U.S.A., Asia,…) and intended to be sold in Europe.


• 2001: (January 16) the discontinuance of business could intervene before the end of the year.

For the Group, “it is a question of reorganizing the activities of the branch, in order to preserve its competitiveness, to simplify its structure and in particular to ensure the future growth of the activities systems of control and measuring instruments”.

And tomorrow…?
